On Sunday 3rd May 2026 , the PLANBEE Project (Promoting Local Apiary Networks and Bee Entrepreneurial Excellence) in Jordan, implemented by Hand in Hand for Economic Empowerment and Entrepreneurship (HIH), is preparing to launch its highly anticipated environmental and field activity titled: “Bloom & Buzz: PLANBEE Planting Day.” This activity will include strategic stops extending from the Royal Botanical Garden in Tal Al-Rumman to the Beisan Tourist Apiaries in Jerash.
This activity, in cooperation with the Royal Botanical Garden, the Jordan Beekeepers Association, and the Jordan University of Science and Technology (JUST), and with the support of the Ministry of Agriculture, will bring together students, experts, Jerash locals, and nature lovers to explore the link between biodiversity conservation and enhancing the economic resilience of rural communities.
The activity includes field activities aimed at consolidating sustainability concepts, most notably:
1- Ecological Rehabilitation: Planting native, bee-friendly, and attractive seedlings at the Royal Botanical Garden.
2- Value Chain and Entrepreneurship: A field visit to “Beisan Tourist Apiaries” in Jerash to observe the expertise and experiences of pioneering apiaries, reflecting an inspiring model for the sustainable rural economy.
3- Conclusion and Community Dialogue: The event will end with a local rural lunch, featuring a friendly discussion about the beekeeping and an exchange of conversations about sustainable livelihoods.
The international communication team, TESIM, in cooperation with representatives of the press and media, will document the event and conduct field interviews with project leaders and beekeepers to highlight the direct economic and environmental impact of the project.
